St John of God Murdoch Hospital Florist – Same-Day Flower Delivery You Can Trust

St John of God Murdoch Hospital Flower Delivery

Specialists in Maternity, Hospice, and Patient deliveries.

St John of God (SJOG) Murdoch is a premier private hospital, and Spearwood Florist is the trusted local choice for deliveries. Located just minutes away in Cockburn Central, we visit the SJOG campus daily. Unlike general couriers who get confused between the Private Hospital and the Public Hospital (Fiona Stanley) next door, our drivers know exactly where to go.

Delivery Logistics for SJOG Murdoch
SJOG Murdoch is a large precinct with distinct areas. Whether you are celebrating a new arrival or sending comfort to the hospice, here is our guide:

St Mary’s Ward (Maternity)
SJOG is famous for its busy maternity unit. We deliver “New Baby” gifts here every day.

  • Box Arrangements are Best: New mums often don’t have access to vases. We recommend our Box Arrangements, which come in their own water source and are easy to transport home when mum is discharged.

  • Add a Teddy or Balloon: We can add a soft toy or “It’s a Boy/Girl” balloon to your order to make it extra special.

Murdoch Community Hospice
We provide compassionate delivery to the Murdoch Community Hospice, located on the hospital grounds.

  • Sensitive Delivery: We understand the nature of hospice care. We recommend peaceful, low-scent arrangements (such as pastel roses or native flowers) that bring comfort without being overwhelming.

  • Room Numbers: Please provide the specific room number if known, or the full name of the patient so we can locate them at reception.

Wexford Medical Centre
We also service the specialist suites in the Wexford Medical Centre attached to the hospital.

  • Staff & Specialists: If sending a thank-you to a specialist or staff member, please include the suite number and the name of the practice (e.g. “Murdoch Orthopaedics, Suite 10”) to ensure it reaches the correct desk.

Important Hospital Rules

  • ICU / CCU: Flowers are not permitted in Intensive Care or Coronary Care units. If your loved one is currently in ICU, we recommend waiting until they are transferred to a general ward.

  • Full Name: Please use the patient’s legal name (not a nickname) so hospital staff can locate them in the system.

Same-Day Delivery to SJOG Murdoch
We offer same-day delivery for hospital orders placed by 1:00 pm (Monday–Friday) and 10:00 am (Saturday).

  • Wrong Hospital? If your recipient is actually next door at the public hospital, please visit our dedicated Fiona Stanley Hospital Florist page for ward-specific delivery information.

SJOG Murdoch Delivery FAQs

1) My friend is in the “Murdoch Surgicentre”. Is that the same as the main hospital?
No—this is a very common confusion. The Murdoch Surgicentre is a separate day-procedure unit often used for short stays.

  • Important: Patients are often discharged quickly (sometimes within hours). Before ordering, please confirm they will still be there in the afternoon. If they are leaving the same day, we recommend sending flowers to their home address instead so they can enjoy them while they recover in comfort.

2) What happens if the patient is discharged before the flowers arrive?
This can happen occasionally (for example, when patients are discharged earlier than expected).

  • Our promise: We don’t leave flowers at an empty bed. If the patient has already gone home, we’ll contact you straight away. We can re-deliver to a home address (a small re-delivery fee may apply depending on the suburb) to ensure your gift still reaches them.

3) Can I send flowers to the St John of God “Medical Clinic” building?
Yes, but the Wexford Medical Centre contains many specialist suites.

  • Crucial detail: Please include the suite number and the practice name (e.g., “Suite 42, Perth Eye Clinic”). Without this, it can be difficult to locate the recipient, and the main hospital reception typically cannot direct deliveries to private suites.

4) Is it okay to send bright, colourful flowers to the Hospice?
Yes, absolutely. While some people prefer soft pastels, many families find that a bright, cheerful arrangement brings a welcome pop of colour and life to the room.

  • Tip: We recommend avoiding highly fragrant flowers (such as oriental lilies) in hospice settings, as strong scents can be overpowering in smaller rooms. Roses, natives, and gerberas are excellent choices.

5) Why do you recommend box arrangements for maternity patients?
Two reasons:

  • Safety: Hospital bedside tables are often small and crowded. A tall glass vase can be easily knocked over. A box arrangement is low, stable, and arrives in its own water source.
  • Going home: When a new mum is discharged, carrying a baby, car capsule, and bags is already a lot. A box arrangement can sit securely in the car without spilling water, unlike a vase that may need to be emptied and carried upright.
